Nadir is one of the most experienced figures in the Turkish real estate industry. With an initial background in property valuation ("ekspertiz" in Turkish), Nadir was appointed Managaing Director of Emlak Konut Pazarlama, the marketing divison of Turkey’s then largest specialist provider of real estate finance, Emlak Bank. His principal remit was to market the whole of Emlak’s property portfolio, the single largest in the country at the time.

Following corporate re-organisation, Emlak Konut was spun off to form the Emlak GYO which remains the single largest real estate investment vehicle in Turkey with a multi-billion dollar portfolio under management. Nadir was appointed Managing Director of Emlak GYO in 2002 and developed close links with TOKI, the Turkish government’s housing development agency and the largest owner of greenfield sites in Turkey. Nadir brings unparalleled contacts, experience and expertise to the dq|dx team with the ablity to source investment opportunities and deliver on deal completion not usually available on the open market to overseas investors.

The Engineering Consulting Team (ECT) at dq|dx works closely with our Real Estate Team to provide a wide range of consulting services. It possesses substantial experience in providing consultancy services to large-scale construction projects in Turkey and has relationships with the country’s leading architects, civil engineers and property developers. The ECT has been engaged in some of Istanbul’s most prestigious construction projects such as the Turkish Formula One race track, IKEA’s first store in Istanbul and currently on the Artel mixed use development where the Marriott group’s new venture in Anatolian Istanbul will be located.

Recent work has also focussed on the retail sector providing strategic planning, feasibility studies and project management for shopping centre developments which remain a major growth area in Turkey. The ECT also manages projects from a building control perspective ("yapi denetim" in Turkish) - this is subject to extremely stringent thresholds in Turkey and effective compliance is key to the success of all new-build projects. The ECT’s expertise in managing approvals processing (eg zoning, licensing, permissions) where such issues have previously proved problematic (or even terminal) is a particular competitive strength.

Formerly Economic Consultant at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris (a world-leading economic think tank), Adrian leads the Business Development Group at dqdx. Using micro-economic and corporate finance analytical techniques, his team appraises each investment opportunity to ensure our clients benefit from opportunities with exceptional capital growth potential. Adrian is also a City-qualified member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

Adrian is based both in London and Istanbul.

Formerly Consultant in Corporate Strategy and Investment to a FTSE Top 20 company, Adil has over 10 years experience in investment appraisal. He is an expert in corporate finance and has substantial experience in cross-border mergers and acquisitions where he has project managed several high-profile investment deals. He is a member of and regulated by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) in the United Kingdom.

Adil is honorary Postgraduate Teaching Fellow in Finance and Investment Theory at the University of Warwick.
